![]() Welcome to the USA 100 km Team website specifically designed to provide information about teams past and present with the main emphasis on fundraising. Since the National Team does not receive monetary support for travel or lodging from USATF, team members are self funded. This means that each team member must generate between $2000-$3000 for their trip. We certainly appreciate any and all support for the team and look forward to great results this November in Italy. Be sure to follow the team's progress on this website. Nancy Hobbs The 100K distance is the international standard for road ultra running and is recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The 100K World Cup brings together hundreds of the top ultrarunning athletes from 20+ countries each year. The United States has sent a team made up of their finest athletes every year since 1987. The USA women’s 100K team has placed quite well at the world competition including the bronze medal in 1993, 1998, 2000, and 2002; the silver medal in 1990; and the gold medal world champions in 1995 and 2005. The men have taken the bronze medal in 1994 and 2007; and the silver medal in 1990, 1995, and 2000. It's an honor to see these athletes compete and represent the United States of America with pride, determination, and commitment to their absolute best effort. Thank you in advance for your consideration in supporting the 2008 United States 100K Team that will compete with the world’s best in Tuscania, Italy on November 8th. With your help we know we can send America ’s best. Lin Gentling, Team Leader |
